Founded in 1974 by a dedicated group of volunteers led by Marion Oeschsner, the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) was established to meet the growing need for quality home healthcare in Indian River County. With a commitment to serving all community members regardless of their financial situation, the VNA has evolved into a vital resource for patients requiring home care, hospice, and private caregiving services.

Our Growth and Services

From its humble beginnings with just one nurse director and one home health aide making 80 home visits in its first month, the VNA has significantly expanded its services. Today, it stands as the only local non-profit home care agency providing a comprehensive continuum of care, including hospice services and private caregivers. The establishment of the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach marked a significant milestone, offering 24/7 hospice care to families facing terminal illnesses.
