In 1974, Marion Oeschsner recognized a critical need for quality home healthcare in Indian River County. With the help of dedicated volunteers, the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) was established to provide compassionate care to patients in their homes, regardless of their financial situation. This commitment to community service has been the cornerstone of VNA's mission since its inception.

From its humble beginnings, making just 80 home visits in its first month, VNA has grown into a comprehensive healthcare provider. Today, it offers a continuum of care that includes hospice services, private caregivers, and innovative community wellness initiatives. The VNA Hospice House, a state-of-the-art facility in Vero Beach, provides 24/7 hospice care, ensuring that families affected by terminal illness receive the support they need.

VNA's impact extends beyond individual care; it has become one of the largest employers and healthcare providers in Indian River County, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to the health and well-being of the community.
