Founded in 1975 by a dedicated group of volunteers led by Marion Oeschsner, the Visiting Nurse Association of the Treasure Coast (VNA) was established to meet the growing need for quality home healthcare in Indian River County. With a commitment to serving all community members, regardless of their financial situation, VNA has become a cornerstone of compassionate care in the region.

Initially starting with just one nurse director and one home health aide, VNA has expanded its services significantly over the years. Today, it offers a comprehensive continuum of care, including hospice services, private caregivers, and community wellness initiatives. The establishment of the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach marked a significant milestone, providing 24/7 hospice care for residents and families facing terminal illnesses.

In addition to its core services, VNA has launched innovative programs such as "health care on wheels" through its mobile health clinic, ensuring that healthcare reaches those who need it most. As one of the largest employers and healthcare providers in Indian River County, VNA remains dedicated to the vision of its founders: a community-focused organization that prioritizes the health and well-being of all.
