Our Story
The Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children (VAAEYC) has been a cornerstone in early childhood education since its inception in 1955. Originally emerging from the Virginia Council on Social Work, VAAEYC has grown from a small gathering of 60 individuals to a robust network of advocates dedicated to improving preschool education. Affiliated with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA), VAAEYC continues to champion the needs of young children and their educators across Virginia.
