Our Story

In 2002, the vision for a new community center in Kingston, Washington, began to take shape. The Village Green Foundation (VGF) was established to replace the aging facilities and create a vibrant hub for residents. Over 100 dedicated volunteers came together to build the park, culminating in the signature event, Pie in the Park. After years of fundraising, the VGF Board secured plans and funding for the $9.1 million project, which opened its doors on April 30, 2016. This award-winning center stands as a testament to grassroots cooperation and community spirit.

Impact

Since its opening, the Village Green Community Center has transformed into a vital resource for Kingston, housing the Kitsap Regional Library branch and the North Kitsap Boys and Girls Club. It offers low-cost adult exercise programs, intergenerational activities, and hosts events like Music at the Green concerts and art exhibits, fostering community engagement.
