The Village (FREE)DGE was founded by Sherina Jones in collaboration with Isaiah Thomas and Danny Agnew of Roots Black Collective. This initiative began with the establishment of community refrigerators in Liberty City, aimed at combating hunger in South Florida. Over time, the organization has expanded to include a pantry that serves hot meals and a three-tier food bag system, providing vital support to families and individuals in need.
Village (FREE)DGE and Pantry serves 150-200 families and individuals daily, addressing food insecurity in the black and brown community.
