Our Story

Monika’s lifelong passion for rescuing animals began in childhood. At 19, she saved her first major rescue, a racehorse named Melajim, who was headed for slaughter. With Monika’s care, Melajim defied the odds and lived five more years. Heartbroken after his passing, she vowed never to own another horse—until she discovered Chardonnay, a beautiful Palomino with a fractured leg, also destined for slaughter. Monika’s dedication saved Chardonnay, and this rescue became the spark that ignited Villa Chardonnay Horses with Wings.

Our Impact

Thanks to the unwavering support of dedicated donors, Villa Chardonnay has successfully rescued and cared for over 1,000 animals, many of whom have faced severe abuse and neglect.
