EIN: 33-1143213 · New Orleans, LA
Our Story
VAYLA emerged in response to systemic and environmental racism in New Orleans East during the post-Katrina reconstruction period. Young Vietnamese leaders united to combat the toxic dumping of Hurricane Katrina construction debris, showcasing the strength of cross-cultural and inter-generational collaboration. This grassroots movement created a powerful community voice, addressing the needs of local residents.
Impact
