Our Story
Since 1988, Victor Valley Domestic Violence Inc, known as A Better Way, has been dedicated to helping women and children escape the cycle of violence. Founded by a compassionate group of community members, the organization established a 24-hour hotline in 1991, providing immediate support to those in need. By 1993, a safe house was created, offering a refuge for families fleeing domestic abuse. This initiative was made possible through the unwavering support of the local community, transforming even a garage into a vital office space. One of the founders, Margaret Diaz, understood the challenges faced by survivors and ensured that a safe haven was available for those seeking help.
Our Impact
A Better Way has positively impacted over 31,507 individuals, each with their own story of resilience. The organization believes in the power of education and awareness to foster a world free from abuse.
