About Victims Impact Panel of Oklahoma

Founded in 1989 by Janella Tears, the Victims Impact Panel of Oklahoma is the original victim impact panel in the state. Recognized for over 30 years, this nonprofit organization provides a platform for DUI offenders to hear firsthand accounts from victims affected by impaired driving. The goal is not punishment, but rather a transformative experience that encourages better decision-making.

Impact of Our Work

In 2018, an independent study revealed that over 90% of offenders who attended our panels did not re-offend. This statistic highlights the effectiveness of the program in reducing DUI incidents and promoting awareness.
