Our Story

In 1972, the needs of crime and trauma victims were largely unmet. In response, Captain John Cunningham, Stella Long, Richard Kinsinger, and Robert Denton founded the Victim Assistance Program. By 1974, under Robert Denton's leadership, the organization formalized its services, pioneering a comprehensive approach that collaborates with police, prosecutors, and the courts. Today, this legacy continues, helping thousands transition from hardship to healing each year.
