Our Story
In 2016, the Buncombe County Veterans Treatment Court faced a critical funding crisis, losing all State and County support. Program Director Kevin Rumley dedicated himself to the cause, working without pay to ensure the continuation of this vital therapeutic justice system for justice-involved veterans. Recognizing the need for sustainable funding, the VTC Foundation was established to provide essential services to veterans in need. Since then, the Foundation has grown significantly, now offering life-saving support to hundreds of vulnerable veterans, including mental health therapies, housing, food, and transportation.
