Our Story

Founded in 1952 by Warren Austin, a former U.S. Senator and the first U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, the Vermont Council on World Affairs (VCWA) has dedicated itself to promoting awareness and understanding of world affairs. Over the past 70 years, VCWA has welcomed thousands of international visitors to Vermont, facilitated hundreds of seminars, and generated millions in economic impact for the state. With a rich history of partnerships with educational institutions and local organizations, VCWA continues to embrace the digital age, connecting Vermont to the world and vice versa.
