Our Story

Verland Commons was founded by three compassionate women inspired by their children with disabilities. Their vision was to create a nurturing environment that offers dignity and respect to individuals facing intellectual and physical challenges. The name 'Verland' symbolizes this mission, combining the names of the founders' children. What began with a generous land donation has blossomed into a network of facilities and services across Western Pennsylvania.

Impact

Today, Verland supports over 230 individuals with intellectual disabilities, providing them with a safe and enriching environment. With 37 community living homes and four adult training facilities, Verland enhances the quality of life for its residents while promoting their independence.
