Our Story
Established in 1949, the Scott County Mental Health Center was one of Iowa's pioneering outpatient psychiatric clinics, created in response to the 1946 National Mental Health Centers Act. Renamed in 1982 in honor of Dr. Vera French, who dedicated her career to mental health, the organization has expanded its services to include residential care, community support, and various mental health programs, ensuring comprehensive care for individuals with mental illness.
