In 1966, Vera A. Stephens embarked on a mission to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission in Monrovia, Liberia. In 1983, she founded the Bethesda Christian boarding school to educate underserved children and instill Christian principles. Despite the challenges of the civil war from 1989-1995, her dedication to this mission remained unwavering until her passing in 1995.
The Bethesda School has served hundreds of children, providing them with education and instilling Christian values, even during times of conflict. The organization is committed to expanding its reach and impact through new projects and facilities.
