Our Story
Founded in 2003, Ventura Land Trust emerged from a community-driven effort to protect the iconic hillsides north of Ventura from development. Originally known as Ventura Hillsides Conservancy, the organization has grown to hold 3,876 acres across seven preserves in Ventura County. In 2019, VLT achieved accreditation from the Land Trust Alliance, joining a prestigious network of over 400 accredited land trusts nationwide.
Our Impact
VLT has made significant strides in conservation, preserving 3,876 acres of land and removing 500 tons of trash from the Ventura River. The organization has also connected with 3,009 students through its Ventura Wild program, fostering a love for nature and environmental stewardship.
