Founded in 2016 by Venezuelan migrants Héctor Arguinzones and Niurka Meléndez, Venezuelans and Immigrants Aid (VIA) was created to empower fellow forced migrants and asylum seekers. Through information, education, and community support, VIA aims to make the adaptation process safer and more accessible in New York City.
In 2023, VIA reached 350,000 individuals through online efforts, conducted 97 presentations on essential immigration topics, and provided critical mental health support, significantly empowering the migrant community in New York City.
