Our Story
It all began with a hashtag. In 2015, Melissa moved to the U.S. and became an advocate for diversity in the tech industry. Recognizing the underrepresentation of Latines, especially women, she was inspired by her journey from working with oil ships in Venezuela to leading marketing for a top software company. One day, while sharing a post about a fellow Venezuelan woman's achievement, she created the hashtag #VenezolanasInTech. To her surprise, nothing came up. This sparked the birth of Venezolanas in Tech, a community where Venezuelan women passionate about technology could connect, grow, and uplift each other. Alongside her friends Noelia and Daley, who also migrated to Argentina, they dedicated themselves to building a platform that empowers women to thrive in tech, paving the way for more Latinas to enter the global tech industry.
