Our Story

The journey of Valor Collegiate Academies began over a decade ago when Todd Dickson was invited by Mayor Karl Dean to establish a new network of charter schools in Nashville. Alongside him, his twin brother Daren Dickson was making strides in youth counseling and social-emotional learning at the Seneca Center in California. This collaboration led to the creation of diverse-by-design schools that integrate college-ready academics with comprehensive human development. Since opening Valor Flagship in 2014, the network has expanded to three schools, serving over 1,900 students and certifying more than 60 schools nationally in social-emotional learning.

Our Impact

Valor Collegiate Academies consistently ranks in the top 5% of schools in Tennessee for overall achievement and student growth. This success is attributed to dedicated educators who focus on nurturing students holistically, ensuring both academic excellence and social-emotional development.
