Our Story
Founded in 1976, Valley Shore Emergency Communications Inc. was established by the towns of Chester, Clinton, Deep River, Essex, Killingworth, Lyme, Old Lyme, and Westbrook to create a unified dispatch center. This collaboration aimed to enhance emergency call processing and resource coordination, leveraging the existing affiliations through the Valley Shore Mutual Aid Fire and Ambulance Associations. Starting from a modest twelve-by-fifteen room, the organization has evolved significantly, adapting to the growing demands of emergency services.
