Our Story

Founded in 1965, Valley Opportunity Council (VOC) emerged from President Lyndon B. Johnson's War on Poverty initiative. Originally known as the Community and Regional Opportunity Program, VOC has evolved to provide over 30 essential programs aimed at uplifting low- and moderate-income individuals. With a focus on community outreach, VOC has expanded its services from Chicopee and Holyoke to the greater Hampden County area.

Impact

VOC serves 88,000 individuals from diverse backgrounds, making a significant economic impact in the community. As a major employer with over 250 staff members and 155 community partners, VOC plays a vital role in fostering self-sufficiency and improving quality of life.
