Valerie’s House was founded in memory of Valerie Melvin, a dedicated nurse and mother whose life was tragically cut short in 1987. Inspired by her own experience of loss, Angela, Valerie's daughter, established this nonprofit in January 2016 to support grieving children and families in Southwest Florida. The mission is clear: no child should grieve alone.
With 1 in 6 children facing the death of a parent or sibling by age 25, Valerie’s House offers essential grief support programs at no cost, fostering a community of healing and resilience.
