Our Story
The Vacaville Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club was established in 2001, driven by a community advisory group dedicated to enhancing services for youth in disadvantaged neighborhoods. This initiative led to the formation of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, aligning with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to leverage proven programs addressing critical youth issues.
In 2003, the Mariposa Center became the first chartered site, followed by the Trower Center in 2005. Despite economic challenges, the organization expanded its reach, opening additional sites including the Acacia Center and the Teen Center at the Meadows in 2014, and the Vaca Pena extension in 2015. The latest addition, Jepson Middle School, was established in 2018, bringing the total to nine sites serving the community.
Throughout the pandemic, the VNBGC remained steadfast, providing essential support and continuity for youth during uncertain times. As the organization celebrates its achievements, it looks forward to strengthening partnerships to continue serving those who need it most.
