Our Story

Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment (UPHE) is committed to safeguarding the health of Utah residents through science-based education and interventions. Established in March 2007, UPHE has grown to encompass approximately 430 physicians and over 3,500 public members, advocating for clean air and a sustainable environment.

Impact

UPHE has effectively presented critical evidence to state officials about the health risks of air pollution, fostering increased awareness and policy discussions on air quality. Notably, a landmark study revealed a significant reduction in hospital admissions for respiratory issues following the closure of a local steel mill.
