Empowering Utah's Infertility Community
In 2010, Camille faced the heart-wrenching diagnosis of unexplained infertility. Feeling isolated, she reached out to a friend, M'Recia Seegmiller, who was also navigating the challenges of infertility. This connection led Camille to the Utah Infertility Support Group, founded by Aupera Van Huizen, who had previously created a safe space for individuals facing similar struggles.
After experiencing a devastating miscarriage following an invasive IVF procedure, Camille realized the urgent need for in-person support. In March 2014, she and Aupera established the Salt Lake Infertility Support Group, which quickly blossomed into a vital network of support for those grappling with infertility.
Despite the growth of these groups, Camille recognized a significant gap in resources for Utah's infertility community. Many individuals felt alone, lacking education and support during their journeys. The stigma surrounding infertility often left couples feeling isolated, with few avenues for open discussion.
Determined to bridge this gap, Camille envisioned an organization dedicated to providing comprehensive support, education, and advocacy for those struggling with infertility. With the support of colleagues who shared similar experiences, the Utah Infertility Resource Center was born. This organization aims to be a beacon of hope, offering a safe haven for individuals to share their stories and find the resources they desperately need.
Today, the Utah Infertility Resource Center provides a range of services designed to support individuals and couples on their infertility journeys. From educational workshops to emotional support groups, the center is committed to fostering a community where no one feels alone in their struggle.
