Our Story

The Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault (UCASA) was founded in 1996 by dedicated advocates aiming to unite Utahns in the fight against sexual violence. Originally known as the Coalition of Advocates for Utah Survivors’ Empowerment, the organization evolved to include comprehensive prevention efforts and rebranded as UCASA in 2001. By fostering partnerships with state agencies and service providers, UCASA enhances the effectiveness of sexual violence education, prevention, and response across Utah.

Impact

Through collaborative efforts, UCASA has significantly increased the availability of services and resources for survivors of sexual violence in Utah. The organization has been instrumental in passing laws that protect the privacy of survivors and has developed essential training programs for advocates, ensuring that survivors receive the support they need.
