About Moncrief Cancer Institute

Founded through the vision of Dr. Thomas B. Bond, Moncrief Cancer Institute has been at the forefront of cancer treatment and care since its inception. Originally established as the Radiation and Medical Research Foundation of the Southwest, it became the first community radiation therapy center in the Southwest. In 1999, the center transitioned to UT Southwestern Medical Center, enhancing its capabilities and commitment to cancer patients.

In 2006, the focus shifted from radiation treatment to comprehensive cancer patient support services, leading to the rebranding as Moncrief Cancer Institute. The institute has since expanded its facilities and services, including a state-of-the-art 60,000-square-foot building in Fort Worth, designed to enhance prevention and survivorship programs.

In 2015, the launch of the Mobile Screening Clinic marked a significant step in providing accessible cancer services to communities across North Texas, ensuring that vital screenings and support reach those in need.
