Our Story

Founded in 2012 by Nancy Corderman, the Usher Syndrome Society was born from a personal journey. After two of her children were diagnosed with Usher syndrome, a rare condition causing combined deafness and blindness, the organization was established to raise awareness and accelerate research efforts. By sharing personal stories, the Society aims to shed light on this often-overlooked condition.

Impact

With a commitment of over $3.5 million towards research, the Usher Syndrome Society is dedicated to finding effective treatments and ultimately a cure for Usher syndrome.
