Founded in 1995 by a passionate group of artists from New Haven, Connecticut, and New York City, URU The Right To Be Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering community engagement through the arts. Under the leadership of Crystal R. Emery, URU has evolved into a content production company that bridges the gap between art, humanities, science, and technology. By emphasizing education and workforce development, URU aims to create a more equitable society, inspiring individuals and communities alike.

Since its inception, URU has reached over 14 million people globally, enriching the lives of more than 200,000 children. With films broadcast in over 500 domestic and international Public Television markets, URU has established strong partnerships with community organizations, enhancing public health awareness and cultural representation.
