Founded in 2013 by Jimmy McQuilkin, UrbanPromise Charlotte draws inspiration from transformative experiences in Honduras. The organization is dedicated to nurturing Charlotte's children and youth, guiding them on a 20-year journey of spiritual, academic, and social development to become Christian leaders who restore their communities.
UrbanPromise Charlotte currently serves around 340 students across four neighborhoods, employing 120 high school StreetLeaders who mentor younger children. Over the past six years, 100% of senior StreetLeaders have graduated on time and gained college acceptance, many as first-generation college students.
