Urban Youth Impact, founded by Bill Hobbs in 1997, began with a simple mission: to change the lives of young people in disadvantaged neighborhoods of West Palm Beach. With just a station wagon filled with sports equipment and snacks, Bill reached out to children in vacant lots, offering them a chance to engage in recreational activities. His deep connection with these youth revealed the challenges they faced, including limited resources and absent father figures. By combining his love for sports with his faith in Jesus Christ, Bill became a guiding light, inspiring young minds to envision brighter futures.

Making a Lasting Impact

Urban Youth Impact is dedicated to altering the life trajectories of children from preschool through college or career. The organization has positively impacted the lives of over 9,375 children and youth, achieving a remarkable 100% graduation rate for high school students and increasing reading proficiency from 13% to 77%. UYI’s comprehensive support helps children rise out of disadvantage, develop a relationship with the Lord, and gain essential career readiness skills.
