Urban Studio + Unbound creates and nourishes professional development through participation and collaboration. By engaging artists in a broad range of issues, US+U encourages the exploration of diverse venues for artistic expression. Founded on the understanding that the art world has evolved, US+U fosters a community where emerging and mid-career artists can learn from one another through shared ideas and common goals.
Part of the mission includes offering free monthly portfolio prep courses to low-income youth and complimentary senior drawing classes. While volunteers teach these classes, funding for essential art supplies is lacking. Donations enable emerging and mid-level artists to participate in vital events like art fairs, which are crucial for their growth in a competitive market.
