Our Story

The Urban School Food Alliance was established in 2012 by dedicated school foodservice professionals to meet the unique needs of the largest school districts in the United States. With a commitment to enhancing the quality of school meals, the Alliance has expanded from six founding districts to 18, working collaboratively to ensure that all students have access to nutritious and delicious meals.

Impact

Dedicated to improving food quality in schools, the Urban School Food Alliance has launched initiatives like the Chicken Pilot program, which has garnered recognition for its advocacy efforts. The organization was honored with the 2024 Summit Award for its community support and engagement, showcasing its commitment to student health and wellness.
