Our Story

Urban Roots, formerly known as the Community Design Center of Minnesota, has been a beacon of empowerment and innovation since 1969. Located in Saint Paul, this nonprofit organization has dedicated itself to providing transformative community development services. Since 1996, Urban Roots has focused on youth empowerment by offering paid internships that foster leadership, entrepreneurial, and life skills through engaging programs such as Market Garden, Conservation, and Cook Fresh.
