The Urban Oak Initiative, Inc. is a BIPOC-led nonprofit organization founded in 1997, dedicated to providing essential human services to rural communities. Based in Atlanta’s Neighborhood Planning Unit V, UOI focuses on educating individuals and families about the benefits of plant-based nutrition, helping to combat socio-economic challenges.
Urban Oak Initiative actively fights obesity, diabetes, and chronic illnesses by offering hands-on culinary education. Annually, over 150 youth participate in our programs, while more than 750 community members benefit from our presentations on plant-based nutrition.
