Our Story

Founded in 1980 in Ohio, the Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program of Franklin (UMADAOP) emerged to combat the devastating effects of substance abuse within the African American community. Initially established through legislation by former State Representative William L. Mallory, UMADAOP became an independent agency in 1991, focusing on prevention and intervention services. While primarily serving the African American community, our services are accessible to all.

Our Impact

UMADAOP is dedicated to breaking the life cycle of drug and alcohol addiction in Franklin County’s underserved communities through education, treatment, and social change.
