Our Story
Founded in 1970, the Urban League of the Upstate emerged from a community gathering at Springfield Baptist Church, where citizens united to advocate for equal opportunities in housing, education, and employment. With a charter granted in 1972, the organization has evolved to address the ongoing challenges of fair access to resources for all, regardless of race or socio-economic status. Today, the Urban League continues to champion the cause of equality and empowerment in the Upstate region.
