Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City

The Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City has been a beacon of hope and change since its inception in 1946. Founded by an interracial, nonpartisan, interdenominational Board of Directors, the organization has tirelessly worked to bring social and economic equality to impoverished citizens in Oklahoma City. From desegregating the city’s fire department to hiring the first Black bus drivers, the Urban League has been at the forefront of social justice initiatives.

Making a Lasting Impact

In FY 2019 alone, the Urban League assisted 1,877 clients in finding employment, 1,714 clients through education and family development programs, and 3,653 clients through community convening and social justice initiatives.
