Urban Family Ministries began in the late 1990s with a mission to minister to the poor and build relationships within urban neighborhoods. Engaging with a local elementary school revealed the needs of urban children, leading to the establishment of an after-school Bible Club. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 2003, UFM now operates in a two-story building in a challenging urban area, reaching hundreds of children and families weekly through various impactful programs.
Urban Family Ministries serves as a safe haven for families and youth in urban Grand Rapids, providing relational, spiritual, and economic empowerment through community engagement and support programs.
