Our Story

Urban Creators is a vibrant platform for radical and collaborative imagination, founded in 2010 by a diverse group of young students, artists, activists, and entrepreneurs in North Philadelphia. This initiative transformed a two-acre plot of vacant land into an urban farm known as Life Do Grow, focusing on food, art, and education to nurture resilience and self-determination in the community.

Impact

Since its inception, Urban Creators has revitalized over three acres of vacant land into urban gardens and public green spaces. The organization has provided fresh produce to hundreds of local families, engaged over 7,000 students and volunteers, and created 143 employment opportunities for youth, significantly contributing to a 40% decrease in violent crime in the area.
