Uptown Music Theatre (UMT) is an internationally acclaimed musical theatre program based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Founded by renowned jazz trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis, UMT introduces children aged 6 to 18 from diverse backgrounds to the magic of Broadway. Through professional training, students learn to dance, sing, and act, while also developing essential life skills such as leadership, discipline, and storytelling.
Impact of UMT
In 2020, UMT's Competition Team achieved Outstanding Production for their performance of The Lion King, Jr. at the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, GA.
