Our Story

Founded in 1981, ConnectLife began as the Organ Procurement Agency of Western New York. In 1993, it merged with the Buffalo Eye Bank, forming Upstate New York Transplant Services. The addition of a blood bank in 2007 made ConnectLife the first organization in the nation to offer organ, eye, tissue, and blood donation services all under one roof. With a headquarters in Williamsville since 2019, ConnectLife has rebranded to better reflect its mission of connecting donors with recipients.

Impact

ConnectLife plays a crucial role in saving and healing lives. One organ donor can save up to 8 lives, while a tissue donor can help heal up to 75 individuals. Eye donors can restore sight to 2 people, and blood donors can save up to 3 lives. Additionally, birth tissue donors can enhance the lives of up to 100 individuals.
