About Upper Valley Child Advocacy Center
Founded in 2015, the Upper Valley Child Advocacy Center (UVCAC) began as a small initiative aimed at providing essential child advocacy services to rural counties in southeast Idaho. Initially staffed by just two individuals, the organization quickly recognized the growing need for its services as case numbers surged from 20 in 2015 to 129 in 2017. By 2018, UVCAC had outgrown its original nonprofit umbrella and became an independent entity, officially receiving 501(c)(3) status in October of that year.
Impact on the Community
Since its inception, UVCAC has expanded its team from 3 to 14 dedicated professionals, partnering with various agencies across Idaho and nationally to implement best practices in child advocacy. As of 2022, UVCAC has served over 700 child abuse survivors and their families, providing critical support and education on abuse prevention.
