Our Story
Founded in 1940 by a group of dedicated citizens, the United Way of Corinth and Alcorn County began as the Corinth Community Fund, designed to streamline charitable giving in the area. Officially chartered in 1954 as the Alcorn County Community Fund, it evolved into the United Way in 1979 under the leadership of Mr. John Stanley, IV, and Ms. Betsy Whitehurst, who served as the first Executive Director until 2022. Today, the organization continues to thrive under Dr. Kelli Hefner, supporting fourteen local agencies in 2024 and fulfilling its mission to enhance the capacity of individuals to care for one another.
