Our Story

Established in 1991, the United States International Council on Disabilities (USICD) serves as a vital resource and relationship builder for people with disabilities. With a member Board of Directors comprising prominent leaders in the American disability rights movement, USICD empowers individuals through grassroots strategies and policy advocacy. As a global network and consulting hub, USICD connects with organizations worldwide to engage disability communities effectively.

Our Impact

USICD advocates for a permanent Office of International Disability Rights and a revised disability inclusion policy across all USAID programs. Through its consultative status at the United Nations, USICD educates and advocates for the rights of people with disabilities globally, ensuring that no funds are used to segregate individuals with disabilities.
