Our Story
United Solar Energy Supporters (USES) emerged at the forefront of the solar revolution in New York State. Following the passage of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, many communities faced resistance to the necessary changes for achieving the ambitious goals outlined in this landmark legislation. A group of dedicated landowners from a proposed solar project came together to address these challenges. Utilizing the Trieste Model, now known as the USES Grassroots Model, they fostered collaboration, shared ideas, and expanded their network. This grassroots effort led to the creation of comprehensive webinars that educated communities about the evolving solar landscape in New York. Today, USES stands as a multi-platform educational clearinghouse, committed to empowering local communities with knowledge about solar energy.
