Our Story

Founded in 2002 as the Front Range Economic Strategy Center (FRESC), United for a New Economy has been at the forefront of advocating for working families in Colorado. Over the years, the organization has successfully passed numerous municipal ordinances in Denver and established the Campaign for Responsible Development, a national model for community benefits agreements in redevelopment projects. By engaging deeply with the community through grassroots organizing, UNE has developed a sharper focus on addressing systemic racism and economic inequalities.
