United Coalition for Animals
EIN: 30-0024366 · Cincinnati, OH
Our Story
Founded in 2001, the United Coalition for Animals (UCAN) is dedicated to breaking the cycle of unwanted births of cats and dogs, which leads to the heartbreaking euthanasia of countless homeless pets. With over 70,000 puppies and kittens born daily in the U.S., the need for effective spay and neuter services has never been more urgent. UCAN provides high-quality, low-cost spay and neuter surgeries and wellness services, focusing on lower-income families, shelters, rescue groups, and community cats in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Our Impact
Thanks to the tireless efforts of UCAN and similar organizations, the number of animals entering U.S. shelters has decreased significantly, from millions to approximately 6 million annually. However, the fight against pet overpopulation continues, as 1.5 million animals are still euthanized each year. UCAN remains committed to reducing these numbers further.
