About Senior Wishes

Founded in 2013, Senior Wishes is a unique initiative by the United Church Home Society, dedicated to serving the senior citizen population of Western New York. The program was inspired by the vision of Wendy Miller Backman and Mike Maloney, who recognized a significant gap in wish-granting programs for seniors in the region. The first wish was granted on March 7, 2014, to Grace Festa, who wished to learn photography from a professional. This marked the beginning of a journey to fulfill the dreams and passions of local seniors.
